  John Whitehead Park Past Members 

Ben Fairley (left) was Club Secretary from 1968 to 1975. Ben won both the 2 & 4 Bowl Club Championships several times during the 1960's & 70's.

 

 

Bob Johnston (right) served as Club President six times from 1961 - 1984 and was an ever present member of the committee.

1956 Presentation Night


 

John Whitehead Park Bowling Club Presentation Night 1956 held in the Black Horse.

 

Pictured are some of the members who founded the club in 1953 and others who had a great influence at John Whitehead Park and also in the development of bowls in the area.

Len Wheatley Club Secretary from 1956 to 1963
Treasurer from 1967 to 1975.
He represented Durham County.

Was Durham County District 7 secretary for many years.
 

Winner of both 2 Bowl & 4 Bowl Club Championships and winner of the Veterans Singles six times.
